About Dr. Sturz
I grew up here in Bakersfield with my younger brother Shaun and my amazing parents Jerry and Kristy. We lived in the NE and I went to Eissler, Chipmand and Highland. Most of my childhood surrounded family, church, sports, music, and scouting. After graduating from Westmont College in Santa Barbara I went to dental school at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, OR. After living under cloudy skies for four years, I was excited to come back to California where I completed my residency in pediatric dentistry at Loma Linda University in 2006.
My life is full of blessings. I want to be a blessing to this community, so it is my desire to use this practice to care for children…plain and simple.
About Dr. Abby
I grew up in Bend, OR with my mom and dad and three older sisters. After high school I moved to San Diego, CA to attend Point Loma Nazarene University where I graduated in 2002 with a BA in Biology. I attended dental school at Loma Linda University and completed my residency in pediatric dentistry through Lutheran Medical Center at St. Joseph Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island. My wife, Melissa, and I have a little boy, Grant, and are excited to be moving to Bakersfield. I enjoy running, playing tennis, basketball, golf, fishing and spending time with friends and family. I love the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Los Angeles Lakers and eating at Moo Creamery.

Becky Cook – Patient Coordinator
Becky has worked in the medical & dental field for over 20 years in various areas of patient care and customer service. She is a real people person and values good customer service. She believes it to be essential to any successful practice. Becky’s strongest asset is her ability to meet the needs of her customers. Becky knows that insurance can be confusing, so if you have any questions, please feel free to contact her. Becky has been married to her husband Casey for 21 years. In their spare time, the happy couple enjoys traveling, flying (Casey is a pilot), going to the movies and spending time with friends. The Cooks puts great value on friendships. They are the proud parents of two Pomeranians, Cappy and Callie, and are they ever spoiled!
Teresa – Registered Dental Assistant
Teresa has been a Registered Dental Assistant since 1982. She has had work experience in both pediatric and orthodontic practices. We were lucky enough to have her join our practice in August of 2007 after taking a break to raise her children. Teresa has been married to her husband Jeff for 20 years and has three wonderful children, Carson, Cody and Callie. Teresa enjoys camping, reading and scrapbooking, and watching band competitions and soccer games.
Jeanette – Registered Dental Assistant / Patient Coordinator
Janette has been a Registered Dental Assistant in the dental field for the past eighteen years. She is married to her husband Larry for 18 years and they have two children, Tiana and Trevor. Janette joined the practice in 2008 and we have been blessed to have her expertise and experience. During her free time Janette enjoys gardening, scrapbooking, friends and shuttling her kids between academic, band, sports and church activities.
Kristy – patient coordinator
Kristy has been with Sturz pediatric from the very beginning. She is also Dr. Kurt’s mom. 
Kristy has two sons Shaun and Kurt and a wonderful husband. Kristy brings wisdom, experience, and a motherly touch to the office. Kristy enjoys spending time with friends and family and her church.
Khloe – Sterilization tech/ dental assistant
Khloe has been a sterilization tech for the past two years and has been with Sturz pediatric dentistry for the past nine months. Khloe has been a huge help to the office and everyone loves having her around. Khloe is currently taking classes and pursuing a career as a Registered Dental Hygienist.
